Daisy Nankervis

Senior Customer Success Associate, Managed Investment Schemes

Senior Customer Success Associate, MIS (June 2022 – Present)
Customer Success Associate, MIS (December 2021 – May 2022)
Customer Success Intern, MIS (July 2021 – December 2021)

I began at Automic as an Intern working three days a week in a small managed funds team. Now I am working full time in an ever-growing team that has since doubled in size. My ambition and desire to be a part of the MIS team at Automic stemmed from the combination of liaising and working together with clients, the tech-enabled share registry support, and an industry with huge potential. The managed funds sector is a quickly growing market and Automic is growing alongside it. Since being here my exposure and knowledge has grown exponentially from working with my mentors who are equipped with a wealth of knowledge and industry experience. Automic has created an environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and equality where the ambition of individuals can thrive.

Investor Services Associate (August 2021 – May 2022)

My first few days as a graduate at Automic was very welcoming and the team was extremely supportive. I immediately felt that this company was going to be a great place to work at, as the team strongly encourages development.

Throughout my experience at Automic, I’ve witnessed how the company values collaboration and teamwork to not only support the company, but also to motivate each other in growing professionally.

To progress in my career, I was recently given the opportunity to move to the MIS Team. Here, I have the ability to continue to upskill and learn from my surrounding colleagues.

Capital Markets Associate

Capital Markets Associate (March 2022 – Present)
Junior Capital Markets Associate (July 2021 – March 2022)
Investor Services Intern (March 2021 – July 2021)

I started at Automic working 3 days per week as an Intern in the Investor Services team, while completing my Commerce degree (Finance and Marketing) at The University of Sydney. On completion of my degree, I was given the opportunity to commence full-time in the Capital Markets team, as a Junior Associate. After 6 months in that role, I was promoted to Associate.

Automic is fast-paced, growing rapidly, and backed by unique technology. This has provided endless opportunities for me to grow with Automic and expand my skillset, for example, managing complex client corporate action transactions with diverse ASX-listed clients.

The culture of collaboration and support that Automic has fostered, along with the environment of growth and ambition, has made Automic the best place for me to launch my career.

Team Leader, Capital Markets

Team Leader, Capital Markets (November 2021 – Present)
Capital Markets Associate (November 2019 – Nov 2021)
Junior Investor Services Associate (February 2019 – November 2019)
Clerical Admin Assistant (August 2018 – January 2019)

I started at Automic 5 years ago, when there was only about a dozen people in the company, working out of a small office in Surry Hills. Now there are over 150 people in Automic, spread across offices in 4 cities. There are people in the team who I’ve worked with the whole time and then there are new people that I meet every day. Despite the company’s rapid growth, the spirit has always stayed the same. I didn’t know anything about share registries when I started at Automic but the team believed in my ability to learn new skills and they were patient with all of my questions. Throughout my time at Automic, the team has encouraged me to take on more challenging roles and manage new projects. Now, as a team leader, I am able to answer questions for the newer members of the team. The team at Automic is not just a group of colleagues. It’s a group of friends who have lunch together in the kitchen, or stay back late to help solve a problem, or go out for drinks on a Friday night. There is non-stop conversation and laughter in the office. Whenever I have too many projects, my team asks me what they can do for me. If I have a question, I can walk up to someone’s desk and ask them – everyone is always willing to stop what they’re doing to help.

Customer Success Associate, Companies

Customer Success Associate, Companies (July 2022 – Present)
Investor Services Associate (September 2021 – June 2022)

I started at Automic in September 2021, having just completed my university degree. Starting in the Investor Services team as an Associate I quickly came to realise how important the Automic value of ‘Team’ was. Everyone is there to support and build each other up, and it genuinely feels like a second family.

This sense of team is maintained regardless of the growth that Automic is currently experiencing, and it is thanks to this growth that I have recently accepted a new role as an Associate in the Customer Success team, where I can continue to develop and contribute to a new team.

Being surrounded by an amazing team is what makes a good workplace a great workplace.

Lachlan Strong

Team Leader, Investor Services

Team Leader, Investor Services (June 2022 – Present)
Investor Services Associate (September 2021 – May 2022)

I started with Automic in September 2021 as my first corporate job after graduating university.

I was drawn to Automic due to the emphasis on technology and growth, which provided a great entry into tech and financial markets. The company’s rapid growth and agility have provided me a wealth of opportunity to apply myself, grow, and move into a leadership role.

Throughout my time here, I have really seen our value of Team. Within Investor Services, and across Automic, everyone always goes the extra mile to help me to fully understand the how and why. The team encourages me to bring forward new ideas and I am given the responsibility to implement them in the business. It has been encouraging to also see my colleagues develop their careers and for their hard work to be recognized through promotions. If you are a graduate that wants to kickstart your career, I cannot recommend Automic enough as a great place to work.

One of my deciding factors in whether a company is worth working for is the team, after all, we spend a decent amount of our hours working. Therefore, upon accepting a role at Automic it was very important to me that the team I was working with was a great fit. I am pleased to say that Automic has to be one of the best companies I have had the pleasure of working in. Not only is my immediate registry team a pleasure to work with, but across all teams from CoSec, Managed Investment Schemes, Accounts to IT. I have been at Automic for 4 years now and the team has allowed me to be myself, enjoy coming to work, appreciate my feedback and grow into my roles. One of Automic’s values is that the strength of our team is good people and together we can achieve great things. I can confirm that this value is present every day I come into work and for me, that value is one of the most important things about a workplace.
