Judge Wilson SC sits in both the civil and criminal jurisdictions of the Court, but predominantly sits in the criminal jurisdiction.

The position of Associate entails assisting with the administration of the Court’s business while in Court, editing of judgments and legal research as required. The parameters of the job are defined by the applicant’s level of experience and as such this role presents a fantastic opportunity for professional growth.

His Honour sits in Sydney but often travels to Gosford. Applicants must be willing to travel on circuit to Gosford and other regional locations as required.

It will be a condition of appointment that applicants have completed a law degree (or equivalent) by the time that they start the position. Applicants are also expected to have:

experience in the provision of administrative services of the kind derived from working in law firms;
well-developed computer literacy (including use of word processing and Microsoft Outlook applications), typing skills and proof-reading skills; and
very strong interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation and liaison skills. Associates are expected to be able to communicate with other Judges, court staff and the legal profession on a regular basis.
