When we first started Earlywork, uni grads thought that sales was commission only, always on the road and only had high volume cold calling environments.
However, we knew that some sales roles in Australia was different.
There were a smaller sub-segment of roles that were hard to find, but were always:
- Full time, office based positions,
- Paid a base salary of $65,000+ for junior roles with commission on top,
- More strategic relationship based selling vs high volume cold calls **and**
- Had active career progression opportunities
After some digging, we find that what these roles all had in common was that they were selling to other businesses.
That’s why we created the term “Business Sales” and only have Employer Network companies that meet the above criteria with their sales roles.
Fast forward two years, and we’ve helped 300+ Aussies uni grads start their professional careers with the Earlywork Business Sales Grad Program.

Attend an Online Business Sales Group Interview after your application
The group interview runs on Zoom for approximately 2 hours, normally with 10-15 attendees per session.
We normally run one interview a week and they’re structured as so:

Hour 1 (Theory Explainer): Earlywork employer network info and business sales 101.

Hour 2 (Practical Assessment): Mock call in groups with the Lead instructor to assess your understanding of the business sales 101 theory.

Have a 1:1 final round interview with an Earlywork Employability Specialist
This interview will assess you on the Earlywork Sales Skills Dimensions and is in the style of behavioural interview.
The goal of this interview is for us to identify if you meet the 5 underlying characteristics we’ve seen in great business development professionals.
If accepted, you'll then be introduced to our Employer Network companies within days if you’ve been accepted.

In your first month of landing a role, you’ll have an kick off night with other uni grads starting their roles in the same month.
From there, we put on regular social events and provide additional 1:1 coaching to help you stay in your career.
