  Graduate Teacher Recruitment Initiative (GTRI) Financial Incentive

  Financial incentives are available for selected graduate teaching roles to help eligible teachers jump start their career. The eligible positions can be identified by a ‘GTRI’ Code and the words ‘Financial Incentive’ being included in the job posting title.  

  Successful eligible graduate teachers appointed to these GTRI positions may receive a financial incentive payment of $5,650 (before tax). The financial incentive will be paid in your first pay period after commencing employment with the school. 

  Please note: not all Graduate teaching positions include this financial incentive. 

  Eligibility Criteria

  To be eligible for this initiative and the vacancies within these schools, candidates must: 

• Be a four-year qualified teacher who has completed all course requirements and graduated within the last four years. 
• Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. 
• Not be employed as a teacher by the Department or previously employed by the school at the time of the commencement of the advertised vacancy. 
• Commit to a minimum of one year's employment in the school. 

The financial incentive will be paid in your first pay period after commencing employment with the school.
