University English Editing and Translation Service

As a freelance academic English editor, you are required to edit academic research papers written by students, researchers and professors from universities and research institutions in the Asia-Pacific. You will use your outstanding English and substantive editing skills, and your subject matter expertise to edit journal papers (in preparation for submission to journals), conference papers and theses. This is a freelance job where the workload will fluctuate and operate on a per document basis.

Hours: You will be required to commit 3-15 hours per week.

You must have subject matter knowledge in one or more of: mechanical, manufacturing, robotic, computer, electrical, electronic, civil, structural, environmental, transport, optical, chemical, materials.

Applicants:

Essential:
(a) Enjoys working with written English and performing substantive (heavy) editing
(b) A background study in one or more of: mechanical, manufacturing, robotic, computer, electrical, electronic, civil, structural, environmental, transport, optical, chemical, materials
(c) Excellent academic grades or publication history
(d) Superb written English and good editing skills
(e) Intermediate Microsoft Word skills
(f) Able to work to strict deadlines and unsupervised
(g) Willing to work according to documented standards
(h) Willing to receive training and improve your editing skills ongoing

Note: Uni-edit neither authors nor paraphrases manuscripts for clients. Rather, Uni-edit assists authors of non-English speaking backgrounds to express their genuine research using English.

Pay rate is dependent on experience and qualifications and based on the depth of editing required and the length of the manuscript. An ABN is not required.
