About Us

At Tutor Lim, we believe that traditional lecture halls and classroom settings often fall short in unlocking a student's full learning potential. Our mission is to build a supportive and sustainable learning community where students and tutors collaborate to solve problems. We aim to bring together individuals who are passionate about both teaching and "learning-by-teaching." By joining our team, you become part of a group dedicated to helping students excel in their studies and creating an engaging and effective learning environment for all levels of education.

Today, we are a growing community of over 2,150 registered tutors, teachers, and mentors, supporting nearly a thousand students from universities across Australia in the fields of science, commerce, engineering, mathematics, and technology.

About the Role

We are currently seeking tutors for the following subjects:

• Biology
• History
• English
• Math Applications
• Japanese as a Second Language

Job Details:

• Duration: 12-hour course (6 sessions of 2 hours each)
• Start Date: June 2025
• Schedule: Flexible, with 1-2 sessions per week
• Lesson Location: University campuses, State Library, or online, depending on student preference
• Course Material: Provided upon request

Successful candidates may be offered further tutoring opportunities within our team.

Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for responsible, dedicated individuals who meet the following criteria:

1. Currently studying or holding a relevant degree.
2. Experienced in tutoring or having taken the subjects listed above (preferred).
3. Flexible with online teaching.
4. Prepared to bring necessary materials for each lesson.
5. Prior experience as a tutor, teacher, or mentor.
6. Holding a valid working visa.
7. Willing to travel for in-person sessions (typically at libraries, with occasional home visits).

Compensation:

• Starting rate: $40 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
• Part-time roles with employment under a TFN (Tax File Number)

Class locations and schedules are flexible and will be arranged to suit both you and the client’s availability.
