What does a Graduate Coastal Engineer do in our Environment & Geosciences team do?  
Stantec’s Geosciences and Environment team provides strategic and practical solutions to clients with environmental design and management challenges. Due to growth in our Coastal service line, we are currently seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated professionals in this field. You will join our enthusiastic and dynamic team in a full-time role based in Perth, with a focus on delivering projects for clients in WA, Nationally and Internationally.

The role

  • Coastal processes (wave, current, water level and sediment transport) investigations and modelling
  • Coastal engineering design
  • Metocean data collection, analysis, presentation and reporting
  • Coastal monitoring and data analysis
  • Coastal Infrastructure Condition Assessment
  • Planning for climate change impacts and coastal hazard risk management/adaptation

About you:

  • Degree in Civil/ Environmental/Marine/Coastal Engineering
  • Passion for learning and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated experience (Undergraduate – penultimate to final year of study to 2 years industry experience) in, or passion for, the fields of coastal engineering, coastal monitoring, coastal processes investigations and metocean data collection/analysis.
  • Valid/current driver’s licence and experience working on boats desirable
  • This position includes both office and field work and the applicant must be physically able to stand and work in the field including in remote areas for extended periods of time.
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • Currently in final year of degree or 1-2 years of experience
