To coordinate and support the delivery of NIDA’s equity, inclusion and access priorities by providing project coordination, stakeholder engagement and cross-organisational collaboration that drives inclusive impact for staff, students and the wider NIDA community.

The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is Australia’s premier training ground for future leaders and practitioners in the dramatic arts. Located at Kensington in Sydney, it is a Centre of excellence in education and training. NIDA is unique in the world for its practice-based and industry-relevant training in the range that it offers which includes Acting, Design, Costume, Properties and Objects, Technical Theatre and Stage Management, Scenic Construction, Writing for Performance, Directing and Cultural Leadership.

 

About the Role

This role supports the delivery of NIDA’s equity and inclusion priorities by coordinating key initiatives, supporting the implementation of strategic action plans, managing communications and events across the organisation. It provides administrative and pastoral support, particularly for students from historically excluded communities, while working closely with the Head of Equity and Inclusion to ensure compliance with WHS and organisational requirements.

 

About You

The role requires strong administrative, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively. Candidates should bring lived experience of, or strong understanding of, marginalised communities and social disadvantage in the arts or education. Experience in arts, education or not-for-profit environments considered an advantage.

Summary

This is a part-time 2-year contract.

 

The base annual salary is $75,424 + 12% Superannuation, based on a 38-hour working week. The salary will be paid pro-rated depending on days worked.

Considerations

  • You are required to have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this role. This role is not suited to a working holiday visa holder.
  • A valid Working with Children Check for NSW is essential. Having one or being willing to get one and to support and implement NIDA’s Child Safe Strategies is necessary to undertake this role.
