The National Institute of Dramatic Art features a large range of performance venues, holding student productions, as well as internal and external events.
The Technical Operations Department draws upon a team of reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking technicians to provide exceptional technical skills to the highest of their ability while delivering consistent and quality results. NIDA's Technicians are engaged to perform a variety of tasks within our theatres and education spaces across a large range of activities including, bump in and bump out of internal and external productions, operations of lighting and audio-visual equipment, operation of counterweight fly systems and client/venue supervision.
Other roles technicians perform throughout the year include repairs and maintenance, archival of productions and AV support.
The pay rate as a casual for working at NIDA on events within the Technical Operations Department under the Live Performance Award range from $37.64 for general crew calls, to $42.56 for operators and supervisors. These rates include the 25% casual loading but exclude the 11% superannuation that is also paid.
A valid Working With Children Check for NSW is essential. Having one or being willing to get one before commencement of work and to support and implement NIDA’s Child Safe Strategies is necessary to undertake this role.
