Our work will take you in different directions

KONE are seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team, focusing on the Southwest Region of Australia based in Melbourne. This role is your chance to provide expert legal advice, propose innovative solutions, and help shape policies that minimize legal and commercial risk.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice to the organization as required
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents
  • Develop, implement, and update relevant legal policies and guidelines
  • Implement and refine legal policies and guidelines
  • Represent KONE before judicial tribunals, governmental agencies, and in dispute resolution proceedings
  • Focus on preventing legal and contractual issues
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise on their impact on KONE.
  • Maintain and coordinate contacts with external lawyers and related advisors
  • Foster strong connections with colleagues within KONE to share best practices and understand current and future needs
  • Collaborate with business colleagues to achieve targeted business results and provide training on legal areas

 

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Bachelor of Law or equivalent and a valid Legal Practising Certificate
  • Minimum 5-6 years of post-qualification experience with a multinational corporation or a reputable law firm
  • Strong understanding of construction or projects and associated risk profiles, commercial and business acumen, and relevant legal practices
  • Self-motivated, accountable, autonomous, and collaborative
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian construction contracts
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organisation
