AGC Interior is a Sydney based commercial interior design and fit out company delivering workplace, retail and commercial projects across Australia.
Alongside our construction and design operations, we are developing our own internal digital platform, Dotplan, together with automation, AI assisted workflows and knowledge systems designed to improve how projects and business operations are managed.
We are looking for a high potential graduate or early career technologist who wants hands on experience working across AI, software, automation and real business operations.
This is not a traditional graduate software development role and it is not a helpdesk position.
You will work directly with management and operational teams to understand real business problems and help turn them into practical digital solutions.
Your work may include AI assisted development, GitHub workflows, software testing, automation, workflow analysis, technical documentation, internal systems support and selected project site activities.
You will also learn how to use modern AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or equivalent tools as part of a structured engineering workflow.
We are looking for someone who is curious, technically capable and comfortable learning unfamiliar systems quickly.
You may be involved in:
You do not need to know our entire technology stack before joining.
We are more interested in your learning speed, problem solving ability and how you approach unfamiliar technical problems.
You should have:
Experience using tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding tools is highly regarded.
However, we are not simply looking for someone who can generate code using AI.
We want someone who can:
Candidates who have not used these tools extensively may still be considered if they demonstrate strong technical fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly.
Exposure to any of the following would be useful:
A current Australian driver licence and ability to travel to Sydney project sites would also be helpful.
A NSW White Card may be required for certain project site activities and can be obtained before relevant site access.
Mandarin language skills may assist with some internal communication but are not required.
This opportunity may suit:
You do not need several years of professional experience.
Strong personal projects, university projects, GitHub activity, internships or other evidence that you can build, learn and solve problems will be considered.
This role is designed to develop into broader responsibility over time.
During your first months, you will work with existing systems, documentation and supervised technical tasks while learning AGC's operating environment.
As your capability grows, you will increasingly take ownership of:
The longer term development path is toward an AI Systems & Automation Engineer role with increasing responsibility for selected internal systems and workflows.
Shortlisted candidates will normally complete:
1. Initial phone screening
A short discussion about your background, projects, technical interests and availability.
2. Structured interview
A deeper discussion about how you approach technical problems, Git, AI tools, testing and learning unfamiliar systems.
3. Practical assessment
A practical GitHub and AI coding exercise using a sanitised, non production repository.
The assessment is designed to evaluate how you think, investigate, use tools and verify your work, rather than how much syntax you can memorise.
Please submit your resume through the university careers platform.
Where available, we strongly encourage you to include:
When describing projects, tell us what you personally built, what tools you used and how you tested or verified that it worked.
